I founded Texas Eclipse over 17 years ago. Little did I know that I would still be coaching the Eclipse 17 years later. What started out as a team of league ball players trying to improve their skills has turned out to be a program that is recognized around the country as one of the best Gold teams out of the state of Texas.
Over the past 17 years there have been countless numbers of young women that realized the dream of playing collegiate softball. Although these young ladies have obtained college scholarships there have also been life long friendships built not only between the players but also the coaching staff. When I was a young man my grandfather taught me that you ar born with three things your Name, your Word and your Honor.
If you lose one you lose all three. I strive to instill these values in the young ladies I teach. Tha game of softball teaches these young ladies dedication, Attitude, and the ability to work with others to achieve a common goal through teamwork. One of the greatest joys of this game is seeing a young athletes eyes light up when what they have worked so hard for is achieved. We strive to provied a unigue, positive atmosphere for our young ladies so that they may develop their skills while building confidence, self-esteem, and mental toughness.
We stress the importance of academics and how it relates to success through competitive sports. I look forward to seeing my young ladies make their mark on the world. I hope that by the time they leave the Eclipse Program that in some small way I have no only prepared them for collegiate softball, but also the mental toughness it will take to venture out into the world and succeed.
